So I was going to do one every tuesday but yesterday was a bit busy and I was a little depressed about Sunday's game, but here is a shorter version.
This team was designed to control the ball get an early lead and dominate with defense and well it has done that for a good part of the season, just not the last quarter. The past two weeks have shown that the offense can move the ball for a couple series and score. The D has been solid until the last quarter, creating turnovers and points. We just need to work on finishing games and putting the game out of reach. While the Offense sometimes seems anemic the Bears have scored 29,17,24 pts respectively and that should be enough for the quality of D that they have.
The mistakes made were mostly mentally, like the Tillman call at the end of the game. While I understand why he did it, that doesn't make it smart. The Bears have been penalized 27 times 1 less than the league worst. Although it seemed like in the Carolina game the Panthers couldn't run a play without an O-line penalty the Bears kept pace with them penalty for penalty.
You just hope that his game is like the Browns game in 2005 when the team came together and said enough is enough and went on to win 8 straight. It's going to be a tougher road this time, with the AFC and NFC South teams on the schedule, and the Eagles ahead, but this is a team that I think can play up to and down to the level of competition. Hopefully, I don't get proven wrong.
